Watch me build this popular lawn game- a Cornhole board (also known regionally as bags, sack toss, or bean bag toss) for much less than the $449 Pro ACL Pro Cornhole Board -Broadcast Version.

If you’re looking to build your own set of cornhole boards or make some as a gift, the good news is that the design isn’t too complicated and they can be built in a relatively short time with some common woodworking tools.  If you have advanced tools like this track saw, you can use them as well.

Each cornhole board top is 2′ x 4′ birch plywood.  Many plans suggest 1/2″ plywood, but I decided to upgrade to 3/4″.  You can use a circular saw, table saw, or track saw to cut your pieces.

I used select grade aspen 1×4’s for the frame.  They’re secured to the plywood with wood glue and pocket screws.  I took a roundover bit to most of the edges in order to give them a nicer appearance.  I also added 2 middle support pieces to help minimize the bounce.

When I made the legs for the boards, I put a support board between them with a gap big enough to get your hand through.  I also have the plywood overhanging the frames by 3/4″ all around, which I think looks best.
If you’re interested in getting a track saw like this, I recommend you check out the certified refurbished tool section on eBay.  This certified refurbished track saw saved me a lot of money vs new and it even comes with a 2 year warranty.  It’s virtually a brand new tool.  Here’s a link if you want to search that tool section on eBay:  https://ebay.us/lsGKHR. They have a wide variety of tools that come and go, so if you see what you’re looking for, it’s best you don’t wait, because it could be gone a day later. Use the coupon code below to save 15%.
